How to shop smart

Most of us want to shop wisely in order to feel that we have spent the money well. I have collected for you the most important rules that will be useful when shopping, especially since we are just entering the sale period.

1| Buy what suits you best

If you take shortcut of compromise, you’ll keep still looking for the right thing and end up with at least two similar ones. My life anti-record is 4 black jackets, none of which was the one I dreamed of. Fortunately, I gave up wearing black jackets before I bought a fifth one. To sum up: something that does not meet 100% of expectations always leaves you unsatisfied and with the need to replace it with the right one.

2| When in doubt choose classics

Or in general, choose the classics! It will always be in fashion and it can be combined well with other clothes. If you like expressive garments and statement pieces, complementing them with classic elements will allow them to shine and look stylish at the same time.

3| Choose the best quality possible

Buy the highest quality you can afford. Such clothes will last longer than poor quality items. This applies to the composition of the fabric, the cut and quality of workmanship. The clothes should look neat and fit well not only on the hanger, but also on your figure. And survive many washes.

4| Choose what really fits

Both you and your lifestyle. If you are in the process of losing weight, do not shop until you reach your target size. Don’t buy things to hang in the closet, for later, or for the life you dream about but don’t really live.

5| Buy what you need, not what you want

First, secure your real needs, that is, choose the clothes that are missing in your closet or that will be in everyday use. However, if you only want to please yourself, then do it after securing those needs.

6| Ask yourself a few questions and answer them honestly

Do you already have something that is very similar? Do you have items to match new thing? Will you really wear it? Is this item within your purchasing budget?

7| Watch out for shopping chains

So avoid choosing things that will lead to subsequent purchases. For example, choosing a cool dress that needs new matching shoes, purse, jacket, etc.

8| Beware of false delights

Unfortunately, the vast amount of reviews on the internet is false or superficial. You can see and evaluate how cloth looks like (and give up when it turns out to be different in the reality), but many false reviews also apply to its use, how it behaves in laundry, and whether it is durable as the person who gives opinion hasn’t wash it yet or worn it only one time (or even only for the photo).

9| Life is too short to wear uncomfortable clothes
