This year’s challenge
New Year’s challenge? Here you are! It was created for all those who want to embrace their wardrobe: organize the contents, find their own style and adapt the wardrobe contents to it. Undoubtedly, it is a multi-stage process and sometimes arduous, but worth carrying out. Capsule wardrobe enthusiasts and those looking for a pattern for a clothing base will also definitely benefit from it to achieve their goals.
First stage: the goal
You can implement the first stage right now. First of all, it’s about defining your personal goal and preparing yourself for action. It is much easier to do the task effectively if we see common sense in it. You can define your personal goal with which you are approaching the challenge.
Possible goals
For example, some of the possible goals are:
1/ Organize your wardrobe once and for all – make it accessible, transparent, and with no surprises (regardless of the number of items)
2/ Find your own style or choose a favorite one. If you have been buying clothes ad hoc so far, shopping what has caught your eye or what has been trendy at the moment, then probably there is chaos in the closet, not so much in terms of organization as in style.
3/ Create a wardrobe that allows you to get dressed quickly and not waste too much time deciding what to wear.
4/ Minimize what you have. But do it as planned so as to keep a well-planned wardrobe and minimize everything else.
5/ Through well-defined wardrobe contents, where almost everything is selected on the basis of a certain key, eliminate impulsive, unnecessary or not entirely successful purchases, and stock up on only what will perfectly complement the contents or fit in a specific style.
Perhaps one of these goals is closest to you. If not – let me know what your purpose is in the comment. It is possible that this post may help: Types of minimalism. Which one do you identify with?
P.S.
This challenge is dedicated to minimalists, but people who are not too fascinated with minimalism will also find their way in it :). They simply will not reduce the wardrobe that much, but the search for meaning in what is hanging in the wardrobe and the definition of your own style and fashion path suits every lifestyle – so feel free to invite your friends to this challenge, they will definitely benefit! (or maybe even get infected with minimalism? who knows!)
